2. ZAYA DE LA PLATA – Beaten 1.5 lengths into third at Nantes two starts ago then appeared at this track last time and finished 2.5 lengths from the winner in fourth. Player.
3. ROBBIA – Last appeared when she finished second over 1850m at Longchamp on June 30. Top claims.
4. NAVIDAD – In the money at this track when resuming two runs back then could only manage eighth at Saint Malo over 1800m a week-and-a-half ago. Not written off.
5. OSTIA – Held when 11th over 1900m at Deauville All Weather a week-and-a-half ago. More needed.
6. NICE PAULA – Scored at Lyon-Parilly over 2000m two starts back. Followed up with a sixth last time over 2100m at Chantilly. Player having been supplemented.

Summary: The unexposed ROBBIA (3) made a pleasing handicap debut when runner-up over 1850m at Longchamp recently. Expected to go close for a notable yard. Supplemented runner NICE PAULA (6) wasn’t beaten far when sixth over 2100m in a Class Three handicap at Chantilly. Hard to rule out with two wins from four outings over this trip. ZAYA DE LA PLATA (2) produced a fair 2.5L fourth at this venue latest and cannot be discounted if seeing out the extra yardage. PERLE D’IVOIRE (1) is noted.

Race 2 – PRIX MONDIAL DU LION – 2400m CLM. Purse EUR €12,000.
1. WHITENIGHT – Solid effort last start when beaten 0.5 lengths into third over 1800m at Saint Malo. Cannot be disregarded.
2. NORQUI DES ROSES – Returned at long odds last start and finished 5 lengths adrift in fourth over 2500m at Saint Malo. Can do much better this time with the run under his belt.
3. STORMY FLOO – Hasn’t made an impact in 6 starts to date. Last time out finished tenth over 2500m at Saint Malo. Better off investing elsewhere.
4. MI BONITO – Held when seventh over 1800m at Saint Malo three weeks ago. Bit more needed.
5. CLIFTON BAY – Finished eighth over 1950m at Chateaubriant. Not dismissed on ratings.
6. HELLO ELLA – Finished fourth over 2400m at Vittel on July 24. Likely to go well.
7. LEVIOSA – Form since resuming has been disappointing last start finishing seventh over 1800m at Dieppe. Looks safely held.
8. ONLY FOOLS – Good third over 2200m at Clairefontaine on August 5. Key player.

Summary: There are no previous winners in the line up and this looks a tricky race to assess. ONLY FOOLS (8) produced a fair 3.75L third in a 2200m handicap at Clairefontaine. Holds obvious appeal at claiming level. WHITENIGHT (1) certainly outran his odds when a good 0.5L runner-up in a Saint-Malo 1800m claimer. Major chance if replicating. NORQUI DES ROSES (2) finished fourth tackling a maiden at Saint-Malo recently. Could be involved. HELLO ELLA (6) is considered.

4. INFANTE ALEXIA – Made it two wins a row last start when she scored at Clairefontaine over 2400m. Going well.
5. GOLD KAFE – Held seventh over 1900m at La Teste De Buch when beaten 7 lengths. Opposed.
6. FLANQUEUR DE BRENU – Moderate effort to finish fifth last time over 2100m at Senonnes-Pouance. Should strip fitter.

Summary: This is the fillies equivalent of Race 1 where betting once more will provide the best guide. The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained Siyouni filly TOMILA (1) looks interesting on paper and can be considered representing strong connections. Zoustar filly MISS POOKIE (3) rates next best for a notable trainer and jockey. Summary: Supplemented GILOU CAT (1) holds leading claims if replicating a decent Class Three conditions third over 3400m at Les Sables-dOlonne. INCONITO COLLONGES (2) left all known hurdling form behind when third in the 2400m G3 Prix Haras de Toury at Vichy on flat debut. Impossible to ignore.
