Unfortunate news emanated from Kranji on Thursday morning after reports that top sprinter BOLD THRUSTER suffered a significant injury during morning trackwork.
Sources say BOLD THRUSTER sustained a serious fetlock injury to his off-fore leg during a track gallop. Despite best efforts to save him, the injury was too severe and BOLD THRUSTER was subsequently humanely euthanized.
BOLD THRUSTER built a formidable record in his short career, with nine wins from 17 starts – including five at Group 3 level. The son of Turffonetein commenced his career with trainer Shane Baertschiger – for whom he had nine starts – before a shock move to the Michael Clements yard. All up, BOLD THRUSTER claimed $856,533 in prize money for the Tivic Stable with his record reading: 17-9-4-1.
?
A terrific horse with loads of character and fight.
As the first ever stakes winner for Wattle Bloodstock we owe BOLD THRUSTER much gratitude and thanks.
His shape and presence as a yearling is etched deeply into our memory. We scour sales looking for his replica.
RIP ? https://t.co/ffYPmwfI2p
