Inferno set to burn on Saturday

Inferno has been scratched from the G1 Hong Kong Sprint

Talented four-year-old INFERNO is primed to score a first-up win on Saturday, when he lines up in the $70,000 Class 3 race over 1200m on turf.

INFERNO was crowned the Champion Two-Year-Old for 2019 after claiming the Group 2 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe in brilliant fashion. The son of Holy Roman Emperor bagged the Group 3 Saas Fee Stakes as a three-year-old before his unbeaten streak came to an end at his first attempt in Class 3 last time out.

Though he found one better on that occasion, there was plenty of merit to that run as he was four lengths behind the leader at the home turn before making up 2.2 lengths inside the final 400m – more than any other horse.

This week, INFERNO meets a below-par Class 3 field which is much weaker than the other division which features talented gallopers MR MALEK and ROCKET STAR. Winning a recent trial in slicking time of 59.56 seconds –  the fastest of all the heats that morning, suggests INFERNO is ready to burn the turf.
