Race 3 – 4 LUCKY QUALITY
Three-year-old who resumes off a 101-day break after racing wide throughout over 1400m at an SP of $3.90 last start. That was his second race start, after catching the eye with a strong third on debut at this track and distance in mid-December.
He has trialled very well for his return and wears blinkers for the first time upon his comeback run.
Race 5 – 3 BEAUTY AMIGO
Put in a solid run when sitting hard up outside the leader over 1200m at Sha Tin 17 days ago, with the early fractions on the faster side of true. His run started to come to an end inside the 200m, only nudged out of the placings in the final stride, beaten 1 3/4 lengths.
That was his best run yet and he looks capable of further improvement, however factor barrier 12 into his price on the night.

Race 2 – 11 VITAL SPRING
Lost ground early last time out after copping a check out of the gates and was subsequently hampered, thus settled too far back but dashed strongly home the second fastest in the event for better-than-it-reads fourth, beaten 1 1/2 lengths. Chance of a top 3 finish here.
Race 4 – 10 SIMPLY FLUKE
Races first-up for Douglas Whyte after previously trained by Dennis Yip, for whom he placed at three-from-nine. Often returns big late splits due to being dictated by a wide draws – he has drawn no lower than barrier 9 at his past seven runs – and again draws wide this week. However, he is clearly going well for the new stable, and with Moreira on, he could breakthrough with a touch of luck.
