Jumped from barrier 11 at this track and distance 42 days ago when blinkers were applied for the first time, however was steadied early to obtain cover and settled 11th at the 800m.
Made up four lengths on the lead speed inside the 400m to check home sixth, beaten 2 3/4 lengths, for a sectionally sound run off a slow early speed and is an improving type to consider.
Race 8 – 5 KINGS SHIELD
An AWT specialist who has been unsuited at his last two starts, racing over unsuitable sprint trips and finishing at the rear. Prior to that, he was an impressive 4 3/4 length winner at this track and distance when leading all the way.
Barrier trialled well ahead of this week’s race, which suggests a return to form can be expected, but has a wide barrier to navigate.

Lost ground at the start as the $3.0 favourite 24 days ago, before flashing home the second fastest in the event for a sound fourth. Deserves plenty of respect in this grade with even luck.
