He added, the vision for horse racing is to see a keen competition among jockeys, trainers and owners creating an event of excitement.

The challenges are there but the Integrity on the whole would bring about the thrill of winning races and more so for classic races, he added.

After a lapse of eight years, Selangor Turf Club decided to hold the Barrier Draw for the Tunku Gold Cup creating an event of excitement with the trainers and owners.
The field of 14 runners will battle out in the first leg of the ever popular Triple Crown Series over the sprint distance of 1200m on Sunday.

Coetzee’s other runner Grand Cross got the widest barrier draw.

Trainer Shane Ellis said, although it is a star studded field of top notch sprinters, both Affleck ridden by Jockey B Pinheiro and Platinum Life ridden by Jockey R.Reuven are well prepared and should figure out the finish in this classic event.
While trainer AB Abdullah said it will be a real challenge to see how Showboy runs in the race. Still in pink condition, Showboy will be ridden by Oscar Chavez.

The Tunku Gold Cup is held annually in honour of Yang Teramat Mulia Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, the first Prime Minister of Malaysia and an ardent fan of the sport of racing.
