Race 4 – 4 INTERSTELLAR

Has his second try in Class 4 and his last-start fifth place, in which he dashed home the fastest in the race, had a lot to like about it off a slow early speed. Positioned 11th at the 400m and standing the lead speed 5 ¼ lengths, he reduced that margin 3 ¼ lengths at the finish – making the most ground in the event.

Could potentially sit handier under the apprentice and it’s possible to see him improve to be in the finish this week.

Race 9 – 5 SEATTLE CHOICE

An improving type who had a good chance to win at his third time of asking at this track and distance 27 days ago, however was the victim of an ill-judged ride in which he sat three-wide on pace punching the breeze. To his credit, he attacked the line with purpose and missed by a neck margin on the line.

Moreira takes the ride this week and has been gifted barrier 3 where he should endure a world-perfect run. The one to beat.

Race 5 – 2 ALL IN MIND

Put the pen through his last start 10th placing as he pulled up lame, instead focus on his debut performance when he checked home second with the second fastest last 400m. Has trialled well since and a better run is to be expected.

Race 8 – 2 GLORIOUS DRAGON

Races on the seven-day back-up after being outclassed at level weights in the Gold Cup, however his fourth fastest final section had good merit to it and prior to that he was returning exceptional late race splits. Better chance in this grade.
