Race 4 – 5 XPONENTIAL

His last start was deemed unacceptable but context needs to be given as to why he placed 12th. Jumped from barrier 10 and was steadied to the rear in a race where the lead speed was over five lengths slower than average to the 400m, so it was a dawdle.

He was no closer than seven lengths off the leaders before the 400m, but ran home the third fastest to finish 4 ¾ lengths astern. The run was sectionally sound and he has been back to the trials and performed well.

Race 6 – 5 WINNING METHOD

Put the pen through his last start 10th as he was the victim of an ill-judged ride. After beginning fairly, he was urged to obtain a forward position but ended up racing three-wide until passing the 600m, then shared the lead until fading inside the 200m.

While all this unfolded, the race was run at fast sectionals. Tries this track and distance for the first time, but on form he is a standout and his tactical speed should land him in a winning position in running.

Race 7 – 6 NOT USUAL TALENT

Ran home the fastest at his last start but it was in vain given he stood the lead speed eight lengths at the 400m where as the winner was only four lengths off at that point. Checked home fourth, beaten 3 ¾ lengths to make up good ground.

Race 8 – 6 GOOD BEAUTY

Form is good and last start he was the victim of a wide barrier which saw him steady early. Ran home the quickest and made up the most ground inside the 400m: 5 ¼ lengths for a 1 ½ length beaten margin.
