VIDEO REPLAY STARS
Race 1 Number 7 CHAMPAGNE FINALE
His last start eighth place finish was better than it reads when he stalked the speed off a blistering tempo and travelled six lengths above average to the 400m. So he was entitled to weaken inside the final 200m, beaten four lengths.
The form has been franked since with BLACK QUAIL, who endured a similar trip, subsequently scoring an easy win, which bodes well for him this week.
Race 5 Number 7 GENTLEMEN AGREEMENT
Put the writing on the wall with a close second last start when he was caught wide throughout after jumping from an outer alley, yet still let down well in the straight to miss by just a nose over this distance.
In what appears a moderate field this week, he stands out as the in-form runner who is ideally weighted to score.
SECTIONAL TIME STARS
Race 3 Number 4 TWILL GUY
Defied a slow early speed from a rearward position to check into fourth over 1000m while clocking the third best final split in 23.57 seconds. He can make his presence felt late under the right race shape.
Race 4 Number 1 GLOBAL KID
Showed big improvement first-up after being gelded in November last year, reeling off the best final 400m (23.01 sec) to finish third in a slowly run race. He will strip fitter second-up and rising to 1600m appears ideal for him.
