Race 4 – 10 ADONIS

His last start ninth placing has good merit to it after he lifted his feet off the ground and was slow to begin, settling well back in the field contrary to his usual racing pattern. Off a below average early tempo, he returned encouraging mid-race and late race splits, beaten 3 ¼ lengths.

Prior to that, he led and gave a bold sight in a very strong form race. Jumps from barrier 1 this week which should see him take up the lead or at least be handy provided a clean get away and he looks a good each-way chance.

Race 5 – 5 SUPER ELEGANCE

Last time out over 1800m at Happy Valley, he was steadied in the early stages and stood the leader 9 ¼ lengths at the 1600m, reducing that margin to a ¾ length at the 400m after making a mid-race move.

Despite the huge mid-race exertion, he held for third, beaten 1 ¼ lengths. Draws low in barrier 2 this week – which should ensure a smoother trip – after jumping from no lower than stall 10 at his last three starts and a win appears imminent.

Race 3 – 13 TRIUMPHANT LORD

Best run to date was last start when he was steadied early from barrier 14 but closed off the fastest, defying a slow early speed to check home fourth, beaten one-length. Could settle handier from barrier 5 and looks an improving type.

Race 7 – 1 HOLY HEART

Wears blinkers for the first time this week and recent runs, when returning fast late splits, suggest a win is near. Can settle closer to the speed from a low draw and is a leading contender.
