Race 1 – 13 RED BRICK FIGHTER

A nine-start maiden who has his fourth try in Class 5 but showed improvement in a recent trial after transferring to trainer David Hall’s yard. In recent starts, he hasn’t raced with much luck anyway; a varying display of tactics, poor rides and wide barriers haven’t helped. Moreira was in the saddle for the trial, but sticks with last-start winner Fire And Gold, which means Red Brick Fighter will be an each-way price rather than overbet.

Race 2 – 3 WAR OF COURAGE

Narrowly beaten at his second time of asking by subsequent Class 3 winner Valiant Dream, the pair gapping the field by 4 ½ lengths. Since then, he has been back to the trials and won his heat dominantly by 5 ½ lengths in the second fastest time of the morning, doing it very nicely indeed.

Meets a few handy types this week, and barrier 1 isn’t ideal, but he has the early toe get across and he looks the one to beat.

Race 9 – 11 SEATTLE CHOICE

Has his third start and enters this race off the back of an eye-catching sixth while reeling off the second fastest last 400m in the race after bungling the start and settling further back than anticipated. Could settle closer with a clean getaway and looks a good chance.

Race 10 – 9 TORNADO TWIST

Is generally a slow beginner but boasts a strong turn of foot, as seen in recent runs when he has produced big late splits. The tempo of the race looks to be run faster than true, which will play into his hands, and he appears an each-way hope.
