VIDEO REPLAY STARS
Race 2 Number 2 INHERIT
A beaten favourite last start who was sectionally much better than it reads. In a fast run race, he travelled three lengths above average to the 400m before fading inside the final 200m to check into fourth.
He has been freshened up since and boasting a 66 per cent winning strike rate first-up bodes well for his return this week.
Race 8 Number 8 SUN GENERAL
Drawn awkwardly at his last two starts which saw him endure a wide trip just off the speed on both occasions. To his credit, he still stuck on well to finish fourth and fifth respectively over this track and distance.
He has trialled well leading up to this week’s race and with only 53kg on his back, he can prove a value selection.
SECTIONAL TIME STARS
Race 3 Number 5 CENTENARY DIAMOND
Ran on fairly over an unsuitable distance to finish eighth beaten 3.7 lengths first-up while recording the fifth best final 400m in 22.75 seconds. He will relish rising to 1600m where he is a three-time winner from six attempts.
Race 5 Number 5 AUGUSTUS
Outperformed market expectation last start when he clocked the fourth fastest final split (22.73 sec) to finish third over this track and distance. With a drop in class, he looks on track to land his second local win.
