Race 6 Number 11 Monster Kaka

Two starts ago was held up from
the 200m – 150m and should
have finished a lot closer than
his finishing position reads,
before going on to be given a
strange steer when a change of
tactics and ridden aggressively
on the lead.

Faded late in the piece due to
the well-above average early
splits (+5.8 lengths above
average to the 400m) but was
only 2 1/4 lengths away at the
finish. Can surprise at odds
here with a well-timed ride.

Race 8 Number 11 Winning Method

Showed good ability as a
a griffin last season but
returned this season in
disappointing form with
two moderate runs up the
1000m Sha Tin straight. Last
start, however, blinkers were
applied and despite enduring
a horrendously wide trip, he
still produced a great run into
third.

Looks like another win is near
based on that effort and he
gets his chance here.

Sectional Time Stars

Race 3 Number 1 Navas

Returned the second fastest
last 400m last time which had
good merit to it given the vicious
slowdown from the 800m –
400m, as well as copping a
check at the 500m. One that
is not to be underestimated in
this grade and has each-way
claims.

Race 4 Number 9 Dor Dor

Remains a maiden after 15
tries but his last two starts over
1650m, when returning the
third fastest last 400m of the
race, suggest he’s trending in
the right direction. The 1800m
looks ideal fourth-up now.
