Kranji Track Spy, November 10

Race 1  Number 8 SABAH STAR

His unplaced effort on debut was better than it reads when he travelled three-wide throughout after jumping from an awkward barrier.

To his credit, he still ran on okay in the straight to finish sixth beaten 3.5 lengths over 1200m. With better luck in running, he can prove a value choice in what appears a below par Restricted Maiden field this week.

Race 10  Number 9 LEATHERHEAD

Did not disgrace himself last start when enduring a wide trip throughout on speed before battling away in the straight to finish fifth beaten three lengths over a mile.

Two starts ago, he displayed a strong front running style to check into sixth in a fast run race over this distance, so with a better-timed ride, he is capable of landing his first local win.

Race 3  Number 5 CENTURION

Was slowly away last time out which saw him settle at the rear from a wide barrier. Once entering the straight, he reeled off the best final 400m (22.76 sec) to finish sixth over this track and distance.  He can make his presence felt late under the right race shape.

Race 8  Number 2 PASSPORT TO ROME

It pays to overlook his disappointing last start as he pulled lame. Prior to that, he had recorded fast final splits and gone close in some quality sprint races. Boasting a great 83 per cent top 3 strike rate first-up holds him in good stead this week.
