Kenilworth Preview – 2 November

Kenilworth, 02.11.2019, Race 1, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R70.000, 12:45GMT+2

Race Summary: FESTIVE GIRL showed good improvement to finish ahead of LINDA LOVES LACE in a meeting two months ago, when the latter well supported but lost ground at the start and has gone close in her only subsequent outing. Both will be competitive if making further progress. LADY LU is another likely improverwith earning potential. Watch the betting on well-bred newcomer SILVER MARIA!

#4 Festive Girl, #1 Linda Loves Lace, #7 Silver Maria, #2 Blue Duchess

Kenilworth, 02.11.2019, Race 2, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R70.000, 13:25GMT+2

Race Summary: PINKERTON makes most appeal on exposed form and won’t be a maiden for much longer. He’s gone close in both starts since returning to the Cape and needn’t make any improvement to play a leading role. MATCHLESS CAPTAIN, DOPPIO ORO and improving RONALDO (blinkers retained) have shown enough to be competitive but a bigger threat could come from well-bred newcomer AL’S MY DADDY.

#1 Pinkerton, #5 Al’s My Daddy, #7 Ronaldo, #2 Matchless Captain

Kenilworth, 02.11.2019, Race 3, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R70.000, 14:05GMT+2

Race Summary: LIT has hit the woodwork in both starts over this trip and wouldn’t be scoring out of turn if improving to go one better. GOLD MEDAL has a wide draw toovercome but should have more to offer stepped in trip. Both MYHOPESANDDREAMS and ALFRED’S LEGACY improved last time when stepped up in distance so could make their presence felt if building on that progress. Watch the newcomers

Kenilworth, 02.11.2019, Race 4, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R65.000, 14:45GMT+2

Race Summary: Justin Snaith holds a strong hand here but preference is for FLEECED, who went close in a similar contest last time. Stable jockey Richard Fourie partnered improving ON THE SCENT to victory in her last start over further but opts to ride the selection, which is telling. PHILOMENA had excuses last time and is capable of better but SANSKRIFT is a bigger threat at this level.

#3 Fleeced, #4 On The Scent, #1 Sanskrift, #2 Philomena

Kenilworth, 02.11.2019, Race 5, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R75.000, 15:25GMT+2

Race Summary: Tricky. CAMP DAVID (form franked), CAPTAIN ELLIODOR and AQUA BOLT have to step up after maiden wins but are still improving so should be competitive. READY TO RUMBLE and MOON ROCK are effective over this course and distance so could make their presence felt too. BRAVE TIGER was ahead of several of these rivals in a similar contest last time and should confirm on these terms.

#2 Brave Tiger, #8 Aqua Bolt, #4 Camp David, #6 Captain Elliodor

Kenilworth, 02.11.2019, Race 6, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R82.500, 16:05GMT+2

Race Summary: MERAKI is most effective over this distance and at best should make his presence felt. Consistent ORAKAL fits a similar profile but may lack readiness after a layoff. Veteran WAITING FOR RAIN has run his best recent races over this trip so must be respected, while BERNIE has also proven capable beyond sprints. However, highly rated FINDING CAMELOT has most scope for improvement

#5 Finding Camelot, #4 Bernie, #3 Waiting For Rain, #1 Orakal

Kenilworth, 02.11.2019, Race 7, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R67.500, 16:45GMT+2

Race Summary: Good race. HELLO WINTER HELLO and QUICKSTEP LADY confirmed the promise of their debut outings with wins next time out. This represents a sterner test of their mettle but both should make further progress to be competitive. FERRARI RED caught the eye last time behind a filly who has since run well at Grade 2 level. She too will raise her game so should be in the thick of things.

#4 Ferrari Red, #2 Quickstep Lady, #1 Hello Winter Hello, #8 Hidden Strings

Kenilworth, 02.11.2019, Race 8, Gallops, 1800m, Turf, R70.000, 17:20GMT+2

Race Summary: Tricky. MARY MOON bounced back to form last time when finishing ahead of BOLD DIVA, SALVADORA and FAVOUR ME. She should confirm with those rivals if reproducing that effort. The latter never got into the race from a wide draw but could pose more of a threat here on the promise of her debut run. PAY PAY has 0,75 lengths to find on MARY MOON but should be involved at the finish.
