Race 2 Number 2 Great Son
Was awkward out from barrier 12 first-up 28 days ago then raced wide and without cover until near the 550m mark. The jockey insisted on pushing to the lead and to no one’s surprise, there was nothing left in the tank inside the final 150m after the early exertion.
The drop back to 1000m is a positive and the C+3 course should benefit his front running style, should he find his way there with ease.
Race 4 Number 9 Playa Del Puente
Had no luck last start when left racing three-to-four wide until the 900m, from which point jockey Karis Teetan took off around the field to take up the lead inside the 700m. Teetan persisted with urging the gelding along until his run came to an end inside the 300m.
He was only beaten 2 ¾ lengths in the end, which suggests good merit to the run given the poor trip endured, and with Moreira on from a low draw this week, a big showing can be expected.

Race 3 Number 1 Amazing Satchmo
Two starts ago in a Class 3 at this track and distance, he produced a big run in a slow run race, returning positive late splits despite finishing ninth. Dropped to Class 4 next start and was ridden negatively but worked home well. Well placed this week.
Race 6 Number 3 Happy Time
Was ridden negatively last start at his first try in Class 4, however he flashed home the quickest off a moderate early speed for third place. He has since been back to the trials and led all the way to take out his heat, so positive tactics could be seen here which will see him hard to beat.
