Race 4 Number 10 Mister Monte

Rises to Class 4 after an all-the-way win over the mile when first-up 31 days ago. Albeit in Class 5 that day, his sectionals still impressed and as he sees Class 4 again this week, he meets some of his rivals far better off at the weights after Chan’s 10lb claim is taken into consideration.

He should be leading from barrier 1 this week and if rated well by the apprentice, he will be in it for a long time.

Race 6 Number 7 My Power

Has raced with plenty of excuses at his past two starts and last start, when racing first-up, he was well-beaten as the $3.4 favourite. He pulled up with blood in the trachea on that occasion, so put the pen through the run and instead focus on his performance three starts ago when he led and gave a bold sight over 1400m at Sha Tin.

Since his last start failure, he has been back to the trials where he won a 1200m hit out in likeable fashion. Expect him to lead and give this field something to run down his week.

Race 1 Number 5 Association Fans

Forget about his last start flop when beaten 17 ½ lengths on a wet and sloppy AWT surface, instead focus on his run two starts ago when he returned the fastest last 400m over 1200m. He can cause a surprise against this field.

Race 5 Number 2 Tashidelek

Resumed with a sound effort over an unsuitable 1400m 31 days ago, getting well back but closing off the third best to be beaten four lengths. He’s a better chance at this distance and should be nearing a win soon.
