VIDEO REPLAY STARS
Race 6 Number 8 QUASAR
His last start fourth place finish in an Open Maiden race was better than it reads as he was poorly weighted and travelled wide throughout without cover on that occasion.
Returning to Class 5 where he is ideally weighted this week should see him run a much improved race and he looks capable of surprising at odds.
Race 7 Number 9 EXCELLING
Changed tactics due to an awkward draw last start which saw him settle off the speed but ran on sharply in the straight to finish third over this track and distance. Had he not encountered a wide trip he would have finished much closer.
Possessing versatility in running holds him in good stead and it will be no surprise to see him breakthrough in Class 3.
SECTIONAL TIME STARS
Race 1 Number 9 CLOUD SHADOW
Caught the eye with a fast finishing effort to check into third over 1400m last time out while clocking the third best final split in 23.68 seconds. He is well placed at the weights to land his second career win this week.
Race 8 Number 7 MY FRIENDS
Endured a wide trip after jumping from an outer alley last start before reeling off the fastest final 400m (22.88 sec) to check into seventh over this distance. With better luck in running, he can prove a value choice against some more fancied runners.
