Happy Valley Track Spy, September 25

Video Replay Stars

Race 2 Number 4 Gouten Of Garo

Made his Class 5 debut 24 days ago when first-up off a two-month break without a trial leading in. He raced wide throughout that day, but held his ground to finish 4 ½ lengths into seventh.

He can improve sharply second-up this week and based on previous Class 4 performances, it shan’t be long until a Class 5 win occurs.

Race 3 Number 9 Shamport

Put the pen through his last start effort when he was eased down over 1400m at Sha Tin with the stewards deeming it an unacceptable run. Prior to that he was running some decent races at this track, never beaten far.

Now down to a rating of 48 sees him well handicapped, and it comes as no surprise to see Moreira pick up the ride as he appears to be close to a win.

Sectional Time Stars

Race 5 Number 2 Gift Of Lifeline

Continues to record excellent sectional time rankings – as iRace’s past 5 runs data shows – and he looks ripe and ready to put in a big first-up run off an impressive 800m barrier trial on September 10.

Race 6 Number 12 Gentle Breeze

Won impressively at this track and distance two starts ago when blinkers were applied before racing first-up 24 days ago up the 1000m Sha Tin straight. He was in the rear bunch but produced the second fastest last 400m off a slow speed, with his last 200m ranking high for the meeting. Suited back at Happy Valley.
