Race 3 Number 2 Gold Velvet
Races second-up this week after a decent enough first-up run into fifth over 1600m 10 days ago. He travelled three-wide that day with the majority of his exertion occurring in the middle stages, so it’s no surprise that his run came to an end late in the piece.
Obviously being second-up should give him an edge over some of his fresher rivals and based on past performances at this track and distance, he can prove hard to hold out.
Race 8 Number 1 Dream Come True
Lit up the Sha Tin 1200m track in mid-June, leading at well-above average early sectionals with an increase in speed throughout, eventually gobbled up inside the 150m to finish fifth, beaten a three quarter of a length.
He has trialled in a suffice manner for his return and will give a bold sight here from barrier 5.
Race 5 Number 6 Sam’s Love
A more-than-capable performer in this grade who might just get things to suit his big finishing burst, given there are plenty of speedy types engaged here. Look for him to finish over the top late.
Produced a much-improved performance after a stable change to John Moore at the end of last season, producing the fastest last 400m in a very slow run race while also returning some of the best late figures on the card. A win appears imminent.
