RACE BY RACE PREVIEWS: KENILWORTH@2019.09.04

Kenilworth, 04.09.2019, Race 1, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R80.000, 13:00GMT+2

Race Summary: A smashing maiden contest which is likely to produce a formline to follow. QUINTAY and HAPPY WANDERER have solid form over track and trip and should have a role to play. However, ALASKAN NIGHT and PEACEFUL DAY filled the runner-up berth on debut and would have come on since, so either could go one better. Watch the betting on well-related newcomers KILINDINI and GOLDEN DUCAT.

Kenilworth, 04.09.2019, Race 2, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R80.000, 13:35GMT+2

Race Summary: CYBER BLOSSOM bounced back to form last time after a break and will have more to offer. ALL ABOUT SOPHIA was behind that rival but has more scope to improve and could turn the tables. TWICE AS ZIPPY and likely improver PHIL’S DANCER ought to have a say in the outcome, although newcomers CONTENTED QUEEN and TIVOLI GARDENS could have a say if not too green. Watch the betting!

Selections:

#12 Phil’s Dancer, #4 Contented Queen, #3 Twice As Zippy, #10 My Wicked Ways

Kenilworth, 04.09.2019, Race 3, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R80.000, 14:10GMT+2

Race Summary: IMPERIAL RAGE was going the right way before a rest and should have a say if fit on his return. However, riding arrangements suggest well-related stable companion VERATRUM, who is improving and could have more to offer over this trip, is preferred. MORSE and LASATA have been performing consistently andshould be competitive too. Watch the betting on Silvano newcomer IN AURO.

Selections:

#5 Veratrum, #4 Lasata, #3 Morse, #8 In Auro

Kenilworth, 04.09.2019, Race 4, Gallops, 1800m, Turf, R80.000, 14:45GMT+2

Race Summary: KHOPESH has improved with every outing but is becoming costly to follow. Heshould be competitive in this line-up returning from a break but is worth taking on with likely improver BLACK KNAP who caught the eye on debut when staying on strongly over shorter. he would have come on since and will have more to give going this trip. YOSMA and DOUBLE CROWN appear best of the rest.

Selections:

#10 Black Knap, #1 Khopesh, #2 Yosma, #6 Double Crown

Kenilworth, 04.09.2019, Race 5, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R86.000, 15:25GMT+2

Race Summary: Good race. DARK CRYSTAL confirmed the promise of her debut when beating ATHALIA (on debut) next time out. The latter has won both starts since and is likely to pose more of a threat in her hat-trick bid. Both STELLA’S STORY and FLEECED aren’t without ability and could have roles to play too. Improving CALYPSO BEAT is open to any amount of improvement and also warrants respect

Selections:

#3 Dark Crystal, #8 Calypso Beat, #5 Athalia, #9 Fleeced

Kenilworth, 04.09.2019, Race 6, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R86.000, 16:05GMT+2

Race Summary: Last-start winners SACHDEV and PSYCHEDELIC are both likely to improve, though jockey bookings suggest the former (debut winner) is the pick of the Snaith runners. MOON ROCK and READY TO RUMBLE were also successful over track and trip last time and can get a look in again. RED EIGHT deserves to get his head in front after narrow misses. SUPER SILVANO and BRAVE TIGER are capable.

Selections:

#10 Sachdev, #11 Red Eight, #13 Moon Rock, #8 Psychedelic

Kenilworth, 04.09.2019, Race 7, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R86.000, 16:45GMT+2

Race Summary: A race likely to be dominated by the 3yo brigade. CANE LIME ‘N SODA made a mockery of the opposition when winning over the course and distance last time, while BAYBERRY was workmanlike in accounting for a useful field of maidenrivals at his most recent outing. Both would have come on since so should run well, although the same could be said BAG OF TRICKS over this distance.

Selections:

#6 Bayberry, #5 Bag Of Tricks, #4 Cane Lime ‘N Soda, #2 Jay Rock

Kenilworth, 04.09.2019, Race 8, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R80.000, 17:25GMT+2

Race Summary: HALLIBERRY and HOWL are closely matched on the form of a recent meeting over 1400m and, with both expected to improve for the step up in trip, should be competitive here and won’t be separated by much. MAYFERN appreciated the extra when finishing 3rd over the course and distance last time and with further progress should pose a threat. Watch well-bred newcomer SHE WILL RULE.

Selections:

#4 Halliberry, #6 Kelpie, #5 Mayfern, #13 She Will Rule

Best Win: #10 BLACK KNAP

Best Value Bet:

Best Longshot: #5 VERATURM
