Race 2 Number 13 Adonis
A 20-start maiden who has transferred to new trainer Douglas Whyte. Last start he jumped the $2.6 favourite, finishing 12th on that occasion. However, there were clear excuses in running; over-racing badly in the early and middle stages which was caused by slowly run race.
There was still hidden merit to ADONIS’performance with his mid-race and late-race exertion rating well against the field and with even luck on Sunday, he should be running well.

Race 10 Number 4 Private Rocket
Another who has transferred to Douglas Whyte’s stable and who won nicely at this track and distance two starts ago before facing a completely different race shape at his next outing.

He travelled around 4L faster to the 800m that day, then 7.2L and 7.8L faster to the 600m and 400m, respectively, so it comes as no surprise he faded to ninth, beaten 5  engths. He can improve with a better judged ride.

Race 5 Number 3 Viva Council
Strikes a race where he could get a cozy time either leading or on pace and his last start fourth placing, when returning the second fastest last 400m, had a ton of merit to it after enduring a big mid-race slowdown from the 800m to the 400m, rebounding with a strong last 200m which ranked well on the day.

Race 7 Number 3 Golden Sixty

Overlook last start when he was used up on the speed trying 1400m for the first time and instead focus on his hat-trick of wins prior when he returned impressive late splits under much different race shapes. He can prove hard to hold out.
