Kranji Track Spy August 30

Race 4  Number 1 DUTROW

Had no luck at last start when travelling three-wide throughout without cover. Once entering the straight, he battled into sixth beaten 4.5 lengths over this distance.

He boasts a great 50 per cent winning strike rate in this class and switching to the Polytrack – where three of his four career wins have occurred – looks a big plus.

Race 5  Number 6 SPORTSCASTER

Was urged early to settle on speed off a fast tempo from a wide barrier last start and despite the early hard work, he stuck on well in the straight to find just one better over 1700m at this track.

He has dropped a lot in the ratings and with a better-timed ride this week, he looks capable of bouncing back for another win at his third attempt in Class 5.

Race 8  Number 12 SAFEER

Drawn awkwardly last time out saw him settle at the rear before running on powerfully in the straight to finish third, beaten under a length. That was his Class 2 debut and it suggests he has the ability to measure up against stronger opponents so consider him a safe inclusion.

Race 9  Number 9 SILVER SKY

Produced a fast finishing effort to check into third last start while reeling off the third best final 400m in 23.42 seconds. He scored an effortless win at this track and distance in Class 5 three starts ago, so in what appears a below par Class 4 field, he can prove a value choice.
