Kranji Track Spy August 25

Race 2  Number 7 DUXTON

Had no luck last start when he was unable to find the cover which saw him travel three-wide throughout just off the speed.

To his credit, he still stuck on well in the straight to check into third beaten under a length over this distance. Switching to the Polytrack suits his positive running style and  he can prove hard to run down with a better-timed ride.

Race 5  Number 1 ON THE RAZZ

His last start sixth place finish was better than it reads when he was taken back from a wide barrier and gave the leader a 8.5-length head start at the 400m. The slow tempo impeded any winning chance he had though his late-race exertion was the highest of the race.

Meeting a moderate Class 5 field stands him in good stead this week and he looks on track to breakthrough at his fourth attempt in this class.

Race 4  Number 9 BEAR WITNESS

Has continued to record fast final split at his last two starts, including an eye-catching second behind recent Group 3 winner I’M INCREDIBLE two starts ago. He is a proven performer in this class who can make his presence felt late under the right race shape.

Race 9  Number 5 DIAMOND BEAUTY

Jumped awkwardly last start and settled off the speed before showing a blistering turn of foot late to finish second over this track and distance while clocking the best final 400m in 23.28 seconds. With a clean jump this week, she can make amends for her last start defeat.
