VIDEO REPLAY STARS
Race 1 Number 8 BASILISK
Was taken back to settle off the speed in a slowly run race before running on well in the straight to finish fifth over an unsuitable distance last start.
He is suited by rising to 1400m where he boasts a great 85 per cent top 3 strike rate, therefore it will be no surprise to see him return to the winner’s list.
Race 5 Number 5 WILDFIRE
His last start unplaced effort was better than it reads when he was urged early to settle on speed off a blistering tempo. Once entering the straight, the early hard work took its toll which saw him weaken into tenth beaten 5.7 lengths over 1200m.
He gave a bold sight and finished third over this distance in a Maiden race two starts ago, suggesting he is capable of landing his first win with a better-timed ride this week.
SECTIONAL TIME STARS
Race 3 Number 10 NORTHERN SUN
Rattled home strongly to check into third behind unbeaten youngster SURPASS NATURAL last start while reeling off the quickest final split in 23.79 seconds. He can prove a value choice against some more fancied rivals.
Race 4 Number 1 LORD OF CLOUD
Has continued to record good final sectional time recently, including a fast finishing fifth last time out when he clocked the second best final split in 23.60 seconds. He looks a big winning chance dropping to Class 4.
