VIDEO REPLAY STARS
Race 4 Number 5 MIDDLE KINGDOM
Was taken back from a wide barrier to settle at the rear in a slowly run race last start. From the 400m to the 300m, he was unable to find sufficient galloping room and once the gap finally appeared in the concluding stages, he finished strongly into seventh, beaten 4.5 lengths over 1600m.
His recent form is better than it reads as he has had little luck at his last three starts, and he can surprise at values against some more fancied rivals.
Race 9 Number 4 SNIP
Travelled three-wide just off the speed after jumping from a wide barrier last start, yet still sprinted sharply in the straight to find only one better at this track and distance.
He has been knocking on the door recently with four placings from his last five starts and with better luck in running, he looks capable of landing an overdue win.
SECTIONAL TIME STARS
Race 2 Number 6 FOREVER WIN
Rattled home strongly from a rearward position to check into second over this track and distance last time out while clocking the best final 400m in 23.14 seconds. Meeting a moderate Open Maiden field stands him in good stead to score this week.
Race 5 Number 1 RICH FORTUNE
Is on a seven-day back up off a luckless run where he was crowded at the start and lost considerable ground before reeling off the second fastest final split (24.13 sec) to finish eighth. With a clean jump this week, he can prove a value choice despite carrying top weight.
