RACE BY RACE PREVIEWS: KENILWORTH@2019.07.27

Kenilworth, 27.07.2019, Race 1, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R80.000, 11:15GMT+2

Race Summary: Only a few of these have winning credentials but it’s difficult to make a strong case for any one of them. IN FULL POWER has improved with blinkers fitted and on recent evidence should be competitive, but SPY has hit the woodwork in both starts since returning from a break and could now be ready to score. CHIEF MANYFEATHERS also has the form to make his presence felt.

Selections:

#6 Spy, #2 In Full Power, #3 Chief Manyfeathers, #5 Gold Pact

Kenilworth, 27.07.2019, Race 2, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R80.000, 11:45GMT+2

Race Summary: Hard to assess. CAPE OF STORMS could enjoy reverting to this trip having run well on debut. PICK EIGHT CAPTAIN has been gelded so should improve, while CALL ME AL is expected to be wiser to the task after not showing much on his introduction. Aldo Domeyer is back in town after a successful stint in Hong Kong and his ride, well-related newcomer PEACEFUL DAY, must be respected.

Selections:

Kenilworth, 27.07.2019, Race 3, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R80.000, 12:15GMT+2

Race Summary: Nice race. GOLDEN TRACTOR showed good improvement last time to finish ahead of highly rated stable companion and subsequent winner Yorktown. He is likely to have more to offer, although the same could be said of RADIANT LOVE who was ahead of the former on debut. GO JEWEL caught the eye on his debut and should confirm with CAPKUTA. Newcomer HURRICANE HARRY is also one to note.

Selections:

#8 Radiant Love, #5 Golden Tractor, #4 Go Jewel, #6 Hurricane Harry

Kenilworth, 27.07.2019, Race 4, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R80.000, 12:45GMT+2

Race Summary: HONEY PIE got going late over shorter last time and on that evidence should  enjoy this step up in trip. CIDER improved to finish on the heels of that rival and, with further progress likely, should be competitive too. MAYFERN will have more to offer over this trip too so must be respected. However, HOWL ran well in a Listed feature and on that form rates the one to beat.

Selections:

#4 Howl, #3 Honey Pie, #2 Cider, #7 Mayfern

Kenilworth, 27.07.2019, Race 5, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R120.000, 13:30GMT+2

Race Summary: On the form of their meeting in the Cape Classic last year, race-fit SACRED  ARROW has highly regarded PLEASEDTOMEETYOU held on these terms. PLATINUM PRINCE has a good record when racing fresh so could make his presence felt, with frontrunners MILTON and bottom-weight ICON KING likely to turn on the speed from the jump. LORD BALMORAL could get a look in too.

Selections:

#6 Sacred Arrow, #3 Pleasedtomeetyou, #4 Platinum Prince, #5 Lord Balmoral

Kenilworth, 27.07.2019, Race 6, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R80.000, 14:05GMT+2

Race Summary: Tricky. ASHBURY PARK is on the up and open to any amount of improvement on handicap debut. However, he was well beaten over course and distance by youngster SUPER SILVANO, who is held on these terms by RED EIGHT and likely frontrunner MOON ROCK under 48kg. NATURALIST and LLOYD GEORGE have run well in recent starts over track and trip, and should be competitive on that evidence.

Selections:

#1 Lloyd George, #4 Naturalist, #8 Red Eight, #9 Moon Rock

Kenilworth, 27.07.2019, Race 7, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R86.000, 14:45GMT+2

Race Summary: Stable companions HURRICANE SILVA and SPIRIT FESTIVAL have held their own at this level recently and should be right in the mix again. The latter, who has been in good form since leaving the maiden ranks, was rewarded for her consistency with victory in a similar contest over this course and distance last time and a resultant penalty is unlikely to prevent her going in again.

Selections:

#4 Spirit Festival, #3 Hurricane Silva, #1 Icon Princess, #2 Almost Captured

Kenilworth, 27.07.2019, Race 8, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R80.000, 15:30GMT+2

Race Summary: ROUND THE HORN is ready to shed her maiden tag and should go close in her peak outing. However, she bumps a few unexposed sorts and may need to improve to open her account. Youngsters ALL ABOUT SOPHIA, YUCATAN and SCOTTISH ALLY have all shown enough over this track and trip to pose a threat. CYBER BLOSSOM isn’t without a chance either. Respect newcomers ANNAMARIE and BINOCHE

Selections:

#1 Round The Horn, #7 All About Sophia, #12 Yucatan, #5 Annamarie

Best Win: #4 SPIRIT FESTIVAL

Best Value Bet:

Best Longshot: #8 RADIANT LOVE
