Vaal Preview – 11 July

Vaal, 11.07.2019, Race 1, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R105.000, 12:40GMT+2

Race Summary: SARAH has the form. She comes of a rest and even if not at peak fitness should be hard to peg back. SEEMYVISION won this course and distance and looks the main danger. TRUE CHARM won easily on debut in Kimberley and should be preferred ahead of stable mates SHE CAN DANCE and CODE BLACK. Maiden ALLMYLOVING could take home a cheque. Newcomers could place here.

#1 Sarah, #2 Seemyvision, #4 True Charm, #7 Gypsy Woman

Vaal, 11.07.2019, Race 2, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R105.000, 13:15GMT+2

Race Summary: DE LA CRUZ is well above average and could make it 3 from 3 this track. DUBLIN QUAYS won his debut easier than appeared and will come on heaps. URBAN ROCK worked hard for a debut victory but would have gained valuable experience. GUANTANAMO BAY hasn’t been disgraced in feature events and could get intothe mix.

Vaal, 11.07.2019, Race 3, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R95.000, 13:50GMT+2

Race Summary: This is not a strong field and a newcomer could win it even if not fully wound up. Watch especially SCARLET TIGER, MUSAYTARA and PASCHALS SAMORE. Of those that have raced KINDAVAR and RAINBOW HAZE could prove best.

#14 Scarlet Tiger, #11 Paschals Samore, #9 Musaytara, #2 Kindavar

Vaal, 11.07.2019, Race 4, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R95.000, 14:25GMT+2

Race Summary: BLUE SPARK got lost around the turn last time but flew up late to get close in 2nd. He should be cherry-ripe and rates the one to beat. ON MY MIND has been knocking from day one 1 and runner-up in his last 3 – obvious chance. MOUNT RAINIER disappointed over further last time but is back over a preferred trip. LION KING has a shout if covered early. Others with money claims.

#9 Blue Spark, #13 On My Mind, #3 Mount Rainier, #4 Lion King

Vaal, 11.07.2019, Race 5, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R109.000, 15:00GMT+2

Race Summary: RONNIE’S CANDY is weighted to win this, however, she comes off an enforced rest after bleeding and may not be ready enough even for this field. PRETTY BORDER is honest and should run a big race if the favourite fluffs her lines. SCENT OF EVENING is no slouch and needed her last outing – respect. Others are looking to make up the frame.

#1 Ronnie’s Candy, #2 Pretty Border, #3 Scent Of Evening, #4 Queenie

Vaal, 11.07.2019, Race 6, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R76.000, 15:35GMT+2

Race Summary: ZABARJAD won on the 5th time of asking. He looks to be on the up and despite a hike in the weights could go in again. RIGA D’ORA ran a bit flat in his 2nd run as a gelding after a rest and should do a lot better. ARCHILLES could feature if not troubled by breathing. Many are looking for money including STAR PROFILE, SUPA MUFTI and TRUE WORDS.

#1 Zabarjad, #7 Riga D’Ora, #3 Archilles, #12 Star Profile

Vaal, 11.07.2019, Race 7, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R105.000, 16:10GMT+2

Race Summary: Wide open. COUNT TASSILO did well after a rest and wasn’t far in front of GREENWOOD DRIVE, ROCKY NIGHT, FULL OF ATTITUDE, NORDIC REBEL and TORRE DEL ORO. Luck in running could be the decider. MONOPOLIZE runs well for Gavin and despite 62kg on his back could take it. FINCHATTON, ROCK OF AFRICA, SAIL FOR JOY, CERTIFIABLE and NORLAND are not out of it.

#6 Count Tassilo, #4 Greenwood Drive, #1 Monopolize, #5 Full Of Attitude

Vaal, 11.07.2019, Race 8, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R60.000, 16:50GMT+2

Race Summary: Tricky last. CHAINSAW has been threatening for a 2nd win and could snatch it. BAAHIR is looking for his 7th victory and should be involved in the finish. SNOW IN SEATTLE is running well and could get into the action. PRETTY JOLLY is running close up and the ‘penny’ could drop. Stable mate STEFFI’S GRAFT will be in the front line early and could keep going. COP SHOP could do it.

#4 Chainsaw, #5 Baahir, #13 Snow In Seattle, #12 Pretty Jolly

Best Win: #1 SARAH

Best Value Bet: #6 COUNT TASSILO

Best Longshot: #6 COUNT TASSILO
