VIDEO REPLAY STARS
Race 7 Number 6 HARDCORE
It pays to overlook his unplaced effort last start as he was outclassed in the Group 1 Singapore Guineas, instead focusing on his eye-catching second in this class two starts ago where he flashed home late into second over 1600m.
The form has since been franked with winner KING’S SPEECH, who endured a similar trip, scoring in Class 3 last weekend, which bodes well for him this week.
Race 8 Number 3 SILVER SKY
Did not disgrace at his last start when he was hampered early which forced him to settle off the speed. Once entering the straight, he ran on fairly to finish sixth over 1400m at this track.
He has been racing against some much better horses recently so dropping to Class 5 for the first time should see him run a big race and return to the winner’s circle.
SECTIONAL TIME STARS
Race 3 Number 1 COUSTEAU
In a slowly run race last time out, he produced the fourth fastest final 400m to check into fifth over 1100m. He will appreciate dropping to Class 4 where he scored a narrow but impressive win two starts ago.
Race 9 Number 11 SAFEER
Despite being held up from the 500m to the 300m last start, he let down sharply to finish third at this track and distance while clocking the third best final 400m in 22.92 seconds. He has been freshened up since and can prove a value choice against some fancied rivals.
