Race 5 Number 1 Better Choice

Drops to Class 4 where he is one win and two placings from four starts and last start was a be-on-me-next-time performance after getting back from a wide draw but flashing home into sixth while posting the fastest last 400m of the race in 22.73 seconds.

He has been producing similar runs at his past five attempts but it wouldn’t shock to see Zac Purton make full use of an inside draw to settle handier this week, where he’ll prove hard to beat.

Race 10 Number 1 Telecom Puma

His last-start 10th place was much better than it reads after he and HAPPY TIME set the track alight with blistering early sectionals over 1200m at Happy Valley late last month. That early work took its toll inside the 300m and eventually the backmarkers got into it, however TELECOM PUMA was only 4 ¾ lengths away in the finish.

He won’t be fancied in this race with a couple of up-and-comers and handy looking newcomers engaged, however he could sneak a place if the race is run to suit.

Sectional Time Stars

Race 4 Number 10 Lotus Breeze

Had clear excuses last start after he stood in the barriers which cost him well over 10 lengths. He eventually mustered and flashed home in the third best sectional ranking of 22.94 seconds for a 3 ½ length defeat.

Race 8 Number 13 Winwin Thirtythree

Gets blinkers on this week after two moderate runs which would appear better than they read after posting the second and third best closing splits of the race. Only a three-year-old, he has plenty of room for improvement, and his blinkers trial was likeable.
