Race 1 Number 4 Hainan Star

Is first-up off a 137-day break after a last-start effort deemed unacceptable by the stewards when leading them up and tailing off to finish last. Prior to that, he was racing consistently and edging near a win, finishing close up in some handy form races.

During his break, he trialled particularly well at this track and distance, and drawn low in barrier 1 under Zac Purton should see vast improvement this week.

Race 3 Number 12 Witness Hunter

Remains at this track and distance after a luckless fifth place effort here two weeks ago. From barrier 11 that night, he raced wide and without cover until near the 1000m, during which he was working in overdrive to push up and share the lead while posting well above average sectionals throughout.

He stuck on best of the on pace runners so there was a lot of merit to his performance and with a bit of luck in running, he looks a chance in a race like this.

Sectional Time Stars

Race 3 Number 9 God Of Dragon

Has his second start for the Tony Cruz stable and in a smaller field of 11 horses here, he should be closer to the leaders with his sharp last 400m sectional times capable of seeing him in the money.

Race 7 Number 6 E Master

At his last two starts he has been catching the eye with fast finishing runs when posting the fastest last two furlongs on each occasion, and in an open looking Class 3 he is capable of surprising here.
