Race 2 Number 8 Blooming Spirit
Only a three-year-old who hasn’t done much on the track so far in four career starts, but last start was a better run than it looked after being used up early to get to the lead from barrier 14. Posting well above average early sectionals eventually took its toll as he began to fade inside the 200m, finishing eighth 6 ¼ lengths astern.
He looks an interesting runner switching to the AWT track where he could give a cheeky sight on the lead under Chan’s 10lb claim.
Race 6 Number 5 Glorious Artist
An honest performer who almost always seems to find himself on pace in fast run races and last start was no different over 2000m at Sha Tin. In a competitive Class 1 event, he certainly measured up against some handy types such as DARK DREAM and HO HO KHAN to finish a close up fourth.
Returning to this track and distance, where he is one win and three placings from five, holds him in good stead to be there in the finish this week.
Sectional Time Stars
Race 2 Number 6 Bond Elegance
Went back from a wide draw last start before getting home the second fastest (22.65 sec) for a fast finishing fourth place. With a few speedy typed engaged here, he can work into it late.
Race 7 Number 1 Encore Boy
Began uncustomary fair last start which saw him well back in the field before flashing home the second best (22.61 sec) for an eye-catching third. He remains in good form and gets well in with Chan’s 10lb claim.
