VIDEO REPLAY STARS
Race 4 Number 4 DON DE LA VEGA
Looked a certainty beaten last start after being unable to find clear galloping room at a crucial stage in the home straight when making his bid for victory.
He and Made In China raced tight for the best part of 150m before DON DE LA VEGA eventually shoved his way into the clear and then stormed late, beaten a neck. With a clear run at the top of the straight, there is no doubt he would have won the race.
Race 8 Number 10 KARISTO
Turned in an excellent debut run when he clearly should have gone close to winning after being severely checked at the 250m in the home straight behind subsequent winner BARBEQUE, who he meets again in this race.
Undoubtedly BARBEQUE also had excuses on the day as he was held up for a good portion of the straight, but it was KARISTO who was badly checked at the 250m mark and had to change course before storming late to go down by one-length.
SECTIONAL TIME STARS
Race 6 Number 1 MR DUJARDIN
Looks to be back in good form after rattling to the post last start in the fastest final 400m of the race (22.58 sec) for a second place to stablemate Sun Marshal. He appears very hard to beat dropping to Class 4 under the new ratings band.
Race 9 Number 8 KING LOUIS
Produced an eye-catching first-up run when he stormed home from last place (14th) at the 400m mark while reeling off the second fastest final 400m (22.25 sec) of the race to check home for a close up fifth place over 1200m, doing his best work late.
