Kenilworth Preview – 27 April

Kenilworth, 27.04.2019, Race 1, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R80.000, 13:15GMT+2

Race Summary: A fascinating 2yo maiden featuring several smartly bred newcomers, which include well-related CONSTABLE, LEGACY LANE and CAPTAIN FLINDERS as well as Monks Hood’s full-brother VERATRUM, so pay careful attention to the betting. STORMIN NORMAN makes most appeal of the raced runners having shown plenty speed on debut before being outrun by exciting Frankel newcomer General Franco.

#10 Stormin Norman, #11 Veratrum, #9 Legacy Lane, #3 Constable

Kenilworth, 27.04.2019, Race 2, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R80.000, 13:50GMT+2

Race Summary: Another potentially smart 2yo maiden contest which could produce a formline¬† to follow. Newcomers DARK CRYSTAL, TOO CUTE and WHISKY TANGO are all bred to be useful, although VELD FLOWER and WHAT A FLIRT are others to monitor in the betting. SCOTTISH ALLY and BRIGHT EYED GIRL should be competitive on what they have shown. DON’T BE BLUE should improve too. Good race – go wide!

#6 Scottish Ally, #1 Bright Eyed Girl, #2 Dark Crystal, #8 Too Cute

Kenilworth, 27.04.2019, Race 3, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R80.000, 14:25GMT+2

Race Summary: None of these standout on form but likely improvers over this trip ALWAYS DANCING and BELEM must be included in all bets. The latter has almost 4 lengths to find on her stable companion but would have come on plenty from her debut and should get closer. FOREST FIELD and ROSALIE RUNS should be competitive over this trip, while GREY PRINCESS could have more to offer with blinkers

#4 Always Dancing, #8 Belem, #2 Forest Field, #1 Grey Princess

Kenilworth, 27.04.2019, Race 4, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R120.000, 15:00GMT+2

Race Summary: The speed will be on. MILTON and STAR CHESTNUT are favourably treated so should be competitive racing fresh on these terms. READY STEADY GO is fit, in form and weighted to turn the tables on both KENNY TRIX (drawn wide) and RUN RED, and could represent value. FIFTY CENTS, MAN ABOUT TOWN and EARTH HOUR aren’t without chances either. AMERICAN LANDING has been gelded. Good race!

#7 Ready Steady Go, #6 Run Red, #11 Kenny Trix, #5 Man About Town

Kenilworth, 27.04.2019, Race 5, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R83.000, 15:35GMT+2

Race Summary: Competitive handicap. DYNAMITE JACK was unlucky in a Listed PE feature recently and a repeat of that effort, dropping in class, should see him contest the outcome. Stable companions GIMMETHERAIN and GREEN ARCHER are in good form and should be competitive, along with WAITING FOR RAIN and likely improvers NAO FAZ MAL and PINK FLOYD. Both PHOTOCOPY and CAESURA could get a look in.

#2 Dynamite Jack, #4 Green Archer, #3 Gimmetherain, #1 Waiting For Rain

Kenilworth, 27.04.2019, Race 6, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R150.000, 16:10GMT+2

Race Summary: HELEN’S IDEAL finished 5th against the boys in a 2000m Grade 1 then confirmed her class and versatility when winning last time back against her own sex over 1250m. She is likely to go forward from a wide and should prove hard to beat on favourable terms. Unexposed LESEDI LA RONA, hat-trick seeking STAR FIGHTER and impressive last-start winner MISS PLUMCAKE could get closest.

#3 Helen’s Ideal, #1 Lesedi La Rona, #6 Miss Plumcake, #2 Star Fighter

Kenilworth, 27.04.2019, Race 7, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R250.000, 16:45GMT+2

Race Summary: Top race. ONE WORLD stands head and shoulders above these on ratings so rates the one to beat. Both VARDY and MAJESTIC MOZART have been beaten by the selection but are weighted to get closer and should pose more of a threat. The former is 2kg better off for 3,75L and has improved with blinkers, while the latter has been gelded and open to improvement over this trip. Must watch!

#1 One World, #3 Vardy, #5 Majestic Mozart, #6 Russet Air

Kenilworth, 27.04.2019, Race 8, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R80.000, 17:15GMT+2

Race Summary: GIMME PEACE, SILVER PLAINS and KURSK have chances if building on their improved recent form, but must overcome awkward starting berths. THE PERFECT WAVE had INDIGO TRACTOR behind last time but the latter has more scope and should pose more of a threat from a better draw – both should be competitive. SNOWY MOUNTAIN could also have more to offer with blinkers on. Get Quartets on!

#15 Kursk, #3 Silver Plains, #1 The Perfect Wave, #14 Indigo Tractor
