Race 4 Number 4 Naboo Star

Looked good when stepping up to this distance for the first time 14 days ago but did have a slight excuse when he lost momentum at the 350m because of tiring horses falling back into his lap.

To his credit, he rebounded well off that slowdown to flash home into second. He should be opening his winning account this week.

Race 5 Number 8 Thunder Stomp

Showed glimpses of returning to form last start when taking up the role as leader but overcooking it up front with around a +13 length above average to the 400m, fading in the straight to four lengths into seventh.

There looks less speed in this race so if rated better, he could sneak in for a place.

Race 8 Number 3 Super Turbo

Strikes an interesting race where, on paper, 50 per cent of the field are noted leaders or on pace runners – this should suit him down to the ground as a backmarker and his recent efforts, when posting some big late splits, could see him hard to hold out.

Race 3 Number 10 Le Terroir

It was hard not to be impressed with this three-year-old’s eye-catching run into fourth last start, his last 400m the best in the race and fifth best of the meeting at +5.3 lengths above the average. He’s nearing a win and can be followed.
