Race 1: There’s a host of newcomers here who have all shown ability at the trials; 3. Hasta Luego, 2. Happy Good Guys and 5. Joyful Heart. The betting could tell the tale here. 4. Iron King ran ok on debut and should take improvement from the run. Purton now takes the ride.
Race 2: 1. Striking Mr C should prove hard to beat in Class 5 based on past Class 4 efforts. 7. Jimson The Famous is first-up off his last-start draw away win. He should be competitive again. 5. Victory Follow Me is second-up for the Man stable and showed improvement at his recent trial. 10. The Happy Bunch could lead and give a good sight here.
Race 3: 12. Hurricane Hunter can still be sided with on recent efforts but will need Purton at his best with a tricky draw. 2. Win Win is knocking on the door and could get a more conducive run. 7. Golden Mission ran fairly last start. Third-up this week, with Moreira on, should see him in the money. 5. Courageous Dragon strikes a race to bounce back in.
Race 4: 7. Flame Lily draws inside for the first time in a while and Purton should give him every hope on speed. 5. Perfect Pair is third-up up to 1400m this week. He gets every hope. 11. Chaparral Star returns to his proven track and distance. Look for him late in the piece. 1. Big Fortune should lead, or at least be handy, but he was weak in the finish off slow sectionals last start.
Race 5: 1. Prince Of Gems should go back-to-back off his impressive debut victory. 5. Beauty Applause looks a handy newcomer for the Size yard. Barrier 11 on debut makes things tricky. 4. Happy Alumni put the writing on the wall last start, read Track Spy for more. 3. Craig’s Star is an improving three-year-old who can be followed.
Race 6: 4. Gameplayer Emperor has trialled nicely after his last-start win. He can win again. 11. Amazing Star ran well first-up but faded late off a hot speed. He can be in the money second-up. 1. Speedy King is racing consistently form and is a leading chance. 10. Goldie Flanker will do his usual trademark get back, flash home late run.
Race 7: 11. Aerohappiness had vet excuses last stat but draws well here to get back to winning ways in a weak field. 3. Thrilled ran well on debut and should be a big improver second-up with Purton on. 8. Team Spirit disappointed at Happy Valley last start so could bounce back at Sha Tin. 10. First Responder showed good improvement second-up and can go close third-up.
Race 8: 10. Young Legend gets his chance to atone after a luckless last start. Read Track Spy for more. 2. Kasi Farasi won easily last start and should be the main danger on that. 12. Better Choice is ready for the 1400m now. Read Track Spy for more. 14. God Of Dragon could surprise at odds after catching the eye last start.
Race 9: 1. Waikuku faces his toughest test yet – up in distance and against better horses – he needs to win to warrant a Derby berth. 2. Enrichment, Waikuku’s stable mate, drops back from a solid win over the Derby distance and can prove the testing material. 6. Charity Go returned to form with a solid third to Enrichment last start. 9. Sunny Speed ran ok on debut in the Classic Cup; expect big improvement second-up.
Race 10: 2. Right Choice stands out as hardest to beat based on current form. 5. Uncle Steve put in a good debut run, though slightly flattered by a fast speed. He can improve further second-up. 8. Roundabout has a big turn of foot and he reacquaints with Moreira this week. 6. Cool Team should relish the rise in distance second-up.
